KAMPALA – US based Ugandan gospel singer Desire Luzinda has dismissed as unfounded allegations that her daughter – Michelle Kaddu and Jose Chameleon’s son Abba Marcus Mayanja were courting.
The duo was captured kissing in a recent photo that found its way onto the various social media platforms leading to a conclusion that they were an item.
Both youth, who live in the United States of America are said to have friends for a while but the compromising photo suggested a much deeper intimacy.
But Desire Luzinda told the media over the weekend that what existed between the kids was mere friendship.
She was however quick to wonder how it was such a big deal that the two were close, emphasising that in the society where they live; there was nothing wrong with a female having a male friend.
“The kids are just friends and in the society we live in, a section of people are the ones who make a big deal about a boy and girl relationship.
“But the society we are living in today is a modern. There is no problem whatsoever in having a male or female friend,” emphasised Luzinda.
She also denied being aware of a local singer who has expressed interest in her daughter. It should be recalled that Victor Ruz recently opened up about his admiration for Mitchelle.
“If there is someone out there claiming Mitchelle, it is entirely their opinion because Mitchelle is not aware of such claims and I cannot even comment much about it,” she noted.
Luzinda said all were for God who had enabled her daughter to grow into the person that she is and with whom they shared a very close relationship.
“It’s hard raising a child up to this age so I thank God every morning that He gave me a child who is both my daughter and sister. She became my sister,” observed the ‘Ebyama’ singer.
