JINJA – Renowned Jinja city-based musician David Kakaire alias Top K on Wednesday appeared before the area Grade I Magistrate, Linda Nakalema on charges of aggravated human trafficking and defilement.
The prosecution told the court that on February 4, 2023, Kakaire and others still at large trafficked a minor with the intent of sexually exploiting her.
The court also heard that on the same date, Kakaire defiled the said minor at Green Summer bar and lodge.
Nakalema didn’t allow Kakaire to plead to the charges on the grounds that her court lacked the jurisdiction to hear such a capital offences – advising him to seek redress in a higher court.
Nakalema subsequently remanded Kakaire to Kirinya prisons until March 2, 2023 when he would return for the mention of his case.
