Kanungu FM belongs to Dr Chris Baryomunsi – the Minister for Information Communication Technology and National Guidance – the Kinkiizi East Constituency MP.

Tumuramye asserts that Twinamatsiko assaulted her because she had demanded for her commission on a business she brought for the radio station.

According to Tumuramye, she secured an advert on January 26, 2023, worth Ugx200, 000 that was paid in cash – fetching Ugx40, 000 as commission as per radio station’s stipulated guidelines regarding then same. She noted that after recording the business, Twinamatsiko declined to release her commission.

Tumuramye explained that when she tried to inquire from Twinamatsiko about her money – a slap greeted her in the face – leaving her nose broken and bleeding. She added that Twinamatsiko dragged her onto the ground as the beating fest continued.

Police picked up Twinamatsiko on Wednesday – detaining until the following day when he was paraded before the Grade One Magistrates’ court – charging him with assault, occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to 236 of the Penal Code Act. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded.

Kanungu Grade One Magistrate, Asanansio Mukobi remanded him to Kanungu government prisons until February 8, 2023 when the case will return to court for further hearing.

However, earlier on Thursday, the radio station management tried frantic efforts to distort facts – through an apology, which claimed that Tumuramye had actually assaulted Twinatasiko in the process of demanding for her commission without the set up procedure of filling a requisition form.

It should recalled that this week – the Kira Grade One Chief Magistrate, Roselyn Nsenge sent Queen Kafta, a Najjera-based teenager to Luzira prisons on a three-year jail term for assaulting a friend – Pretty Nicole at a fake party three weeks earlier.
