JINJA – Police in Busoga East have recovered the lifeless body of a 30-year-old Joshua Kakaire, a motorcyclist – staging in Idudi town council in Bugweri district. The body was found in a wetland in Bubbala village in Buyanga sub-county in Bugweri district on Monday.
Kakaire is reported to have gone missing on Sunday with his motorcycle Reg. No. UFT 635D prompting his relatives to alert the police. Joel Menha said that his brother’s lifeless body was covered with deep cuts on the head and neck.
“Community members informed us they had sighted a lifeless body in one of the rice farms. After a thorough examination, we realized that it was our missing brother suspected to have been killed in cold blood,” he said.
Menha suspects that his brother was killed by his clients whom he ferried on Sunday night and wants police to ensure they get justice for his death.
The Busoga East police spokesperson, Diana Nandawula, said that inquiries into the incident had been launched.
She has advised the motorcyclists to limit late-night movements, arguing that criminals take advantage of dark spaces to attack them and rob them of their motorcycles.
