Dear Ugandan! It is me, November again!
As said that there shall be life, and no one shall take away life.
A year ago, these words meant nothing.
These words meant nothing to the gun-wielding, trigger happy personnel of law and order, meant nothing
Juxtaposition to the men and women, whose bodies lay lifeless on the dusty streets and trenches.
Lives cut short; dreams not realized.
It is November, again!
A year ago, just yesterday, men, women and children were murdered.
Murdered by the people, purported to protect us.
Murdered by a regime that feasts and feeds on the blood of its citizens.
Murdered by a regime that gives empty promises to the families and loved ones left behind.
Murdered by the regime that promises to invite, but rather sits on the investigations.
Murdered by the regime whose police are too lazy to do their work, to investigate these deliberate killings.
A regime whose police are trained to kill on orders from above.
Murdered by a regime whose police cannot investigate a crime, enforce laws, but excel in robbing the citizens they are meant to protect.
Murdered by the regime, whose armed forces obey unlawful orders.
It is November, again!
Where men, women and children go about their day’s work.
A Day’s Work, so expensive it costs a life, not isolated and continues to date
Killed in the name of suicide bombs, gun shots and all technological techniques claiming civilian life object of the state and its self-serving needs.
Killed by bullets that do not discriminate, bullets shot directly through unarmed nonviolent citizens.
Regime self-serving gods choose who lives, and who dies.
Regime self-proclaimed gods cover and conceal their inhumane acts.
Regime self-loathing gods lie in plain sight, tongue wiggling only to mock death; claiming the fall of a victim from a building to cover up rolling footage revealing her gun-down whilst delivering food, earning a day’s work.
Regime self-glorifying gods, thinking they give life cover up and continue to cover up.
Covering up all atrocities committed against Ugandans.
It is November, again!
You are the heroes and villains of the November massacres.
Today, we remember you all, you did not die in vain.
Your killers have never been brought forward, to face the full force of law.
In a better Uganda, when all the bloodsuckers are no more, justice will prevail.
May you all continue to Rest in Peace.
You’ll never be forgotten; you are the heroes and villains.
The tears of a Ugandan child. The painful re-experience of birth pains of Ugandan mothers seeing their children shot dead, being driven over by military trucks. The lament of every sane Ugandan!! Is it a curse to be born in Uganda?!! Tears of right minded Ugandans!! Death of Ugandans in the mind some to government officials is a right!! The police has the right to kill. The army has the right to kill…to kill those they are meant to protect. No justice has been sought for the dead and their families!!! Tears of right minded Ugandans!!!
Uganda is bleeding
