It is reported that Isabirye invited the suspect at his home in Nakabugu trading centre, in Bulongo sub-county, Luuka district during the night of February 1, 2023.

It’s alleged that while the two were together – the police officer became unwell – forcing the visitor to alerted the neighbours after his situation deteriorated. Consequently Isabirye was ferried to Kiyunga health centre IV for medical attention the following morning-breathing his last at the same health facility on Friday.

Police transferred the body of the deceased to Mulago National Referral Hospital Mortuary for a post mortem to examine the exact cause of death – before handing him over to the family for a decent burial.

The Bulongo sub-county LCIII chairperson, Hussein Taitika noted that Isabirye had been a hardworking policeman – challenging the authorities to speed up the process of determining circumstances that led to his untimely death – saying it was the only available option to pay him back before the official send-off.

The Busoga North Police Spokesperson, Michael Kasadha pledged to release details regarding the Isabirye’s death after finalising with the post-mortem protocols.
