Why Bunyangabu District Boss Resigned

FORT – PORTAL – The Bunyangabu district LCV vice Chairperson, John Manume has resigned his post to join public service.

The resignation follows his appointment at the Mountains of the Moon University-MMU in Fort Portal Tourism City.
Manume, who has been vice-chairperson since the creation of the district in 2017 has also been the Katebwa sub-county LCV councillor.

Manume siad he resigned from his position in accordance with the local government Act Cap 243 Article 20 (c) (i), which gives room to the member of the executive to resign.

A copy of Manume’s resignation letter.

Section 19 (3) of the same act states that a member of the district executive committee shall not hold any office of profit or emolument likely to compromise his or her office.

Manune said on Tuesday: “I decided to make this decision because when you are in public service you cease to be a politician.
